Starring — your footage and the finished video

When you upload footage for a Starring gift, you’re telling us it’s yours to use — that you own it, and that everyone who appears in it is happy for it to be turned into a personal video gift. If that includes a child too young to agree for themselves, you’re confirming it on their behalf, as their parent or guardian.

We keep your raw clips only for as long as it takes to make and finish the video. Once your gift is approved (or, for a physical order, once it’s dispatched), we delete the original footage within 30 days. The finished video itself is kept — that’s the gift, and it isn’t going anywhere.

You receive the finished video to keep and share for your own personal use — send it to family, post it, watch it back whenever you like. The song underneath it stays ours: it belongs to our catalogue, and this video is the only place it’s licensed to appear. It can’t be pulled out and used separately, and the video itself isn’t yours to resell or license on.

We will never use your footage or your finished video to promote deeplydippy unless you say yes — there’s a specific tick-box for that when you approve your video, it’s off by default, and you can change your mind at any time by emailing us.
